Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
ShiftSync: Shift & Overtime (“ShiftSync”, “we”, “the app”) is a productivity app developed
by MT Core Studio (contact: mtcorestudio@gmail.com). This policy explains what data the app
collects, how it is used, and your choices. By using the app you agree to this policy.
The canonical, live copy of this policy is hosted at:
https://github.com/MTCoreStudio/ShiftSync-Shift-Overtime-Privacy-Policy-
1. Data you create
Your shifts, settings and schedule are stored locally on your device using on-device
storage (AsyncStorage). We do not operate servers, and we do not collect, transmit, or
store your schedule on our systems. You can delete everything at any time from
Settings → Clear local data.
2. Camera & photo library
The camera and photo library are used only to capture and open shift rosters so the
on-device OCR feature can auto-fill your schedule. Recognised text is processed entirely on
your device using Google ML Kit OCR. Photos you scan are never uploaded anywhere, and
we cannot access them.
3. Advertising
ShiftSync is free and funded by advertising. We use Google AdMob as the primary ad
network and may use Start.io as a fallback.
- Before we serve ads, the app shows a consent screen powered by Google’s
User Messaging Platform (UMP) so that advertising complies with the GDPR / EU User
Consent Policy, UK data-protection law, and US state privacy laws (including regulated US
states).
- Where consent is required but not yet obtained, no personalised ads are shown.
- Ad networks may collect and process data such as:
- Device identifiers (e.g. the Android Advertising ID)
- Approximate location
- App usage and interaction data
- Technical device information
This data is used to deliver and measure advertising. It is subject to the ad networks’ own
privacy policies:
4. Permissions
- Camera — to photograph shift rosters for on-device OCR.
- Photo library (system picker) — opening existing roster images from your gallery uses
the Android system photo picker (and the iOS system picker), which works without any
broad photo/video storage permission. Selected images are only used for on-device OCR and
are never uploaded.
- Internet — required to load and display ads (after consent). No personal data from
your schedules is transmitted.
- Advertising ID — used by ad networks for advertising and measurement, subject to your
UMP consent choices and your device’s ad personalisation settings.
5. Data safety summary (as listed on the Play Store)
- Data collected: None collected by the developer. The app does not collect or share
your schedule data.
- Data encrypted in transit: Yes (HTTPS only).
- Data deletion: Your schedule can be deleted on-device from Settings → Clear local data.
6. Your choices
- Ad personalisation: You can opt out of personalised advertising in your device’s
Google → Ads settings at any time.
- Consent & privacy options: At any time you can review or update your consent choices
(a “Privacy Options” form is provided by UMP where applicable).
- Delete data: Remove all locally stored schedule data from Settings → Clear local data.
7. Children
The app is intended for general audiences (productivity/tools). It does not knowingly
collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information
through an ad, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at the
privacy-policy repository linked above, and the in-app “Settings → About” reflects the terms
under which the app operates.
